Where the money goes
- Processing fee
- Expedify's fee for handling the application — eligibility check, forms, document and photo review, appointment booking, and tracking. Fixed, and shown upfront.
- Government fee
- The official passport fee charged by the issuing authority. Varies by country and service type, and is passed through to you at cost.
No hidden fees. No post-checkout surcharges. No markup on government fees. No expedite fee unless you choose expedited processing.

Two ways to apply
You can do this yourself. Here's what each route actually involves.
We do the work — you don't touch the portal
- Tell us your servicePick the service that matches your situation from the directory above. About 30 seconds.
- Submit your documentsWe send you a checklist. You upload. We review every document for the errors that cause refusals.
- We handle the restForms filled, photo compliance checked, appointment booked, application submitted.
- Review by a real personA dedicated expert checks your application before anything is filed — not a bot.
- Track every stepLive dashboard plus email and SMS updates, from submission until your passport is in your hands.
What to expect, not a promise: the passport authority sets the processing time. We show the official ETA as a fact and track every step for you.
Straight through your passport authority
Cheaper. You handle the portal, the forms, the photos, the appointment, and the tracking — roughly 2–4 hours, and a rejected first application is common.
- United States
- travel.state.gov — forms, fees, and appointment booking.
- India
- passportindia.gov.in — including Tatkal and PSK appointments.
- United Kingdom
- gov.uk — renewals and first passports.
- Elsewhere
- Your national passport authority's own portal.
If you have the time and the confidence, you should do it this way.

How long a passport actually takes
Processing time is set by the passport authority, not by us. Here's what's a fact, and what we actually do.
Standard processing
Routine renewal runs about 6–8 weeks in the United States and up to 10 weeks in the United Kingdom. India issues in 7–14 days; Canada takes about 20 business days.
Source: travel.state.govExpedited and Tatkal
Where the government offers a faster tier we can apply for it: 2–3 weeks expedited in the United States, 1–3 days under India's Tatkal scheme, 2–9 business days for Canadian express or urgent service. The government's expedited fee is separate from ours.
Source: passportindia.gov.inWe track every step
Expedify tracks your application on your dashboard, with email and SMS updates from submission until your passport arrives. We cannot speed up government processing, and we don't claim to.
The questions that cost money to get wrong
Four things people get wrong at the start. All of them are avoidable.
Check which service you need- Renewing when you should apply new
- Renew if your passport is expired or within 6 months of expiry. Apply new if you have never held one. The wrong application type is a refusal and a lost government fee.
- Waiting until the passport has expired
- Most countries require 6 months' validity beyond your travel dates. Renew early — a passport that is technically valid can still get you turned away at the gate.
- Assuming you can't renew from abroad
- You can. We coordinate with your embassy or consulate, review your documents, and handle the process. Renewal abroad is $59 processing.
- Photos that don't meet the spec
- Photo rejections are one of the most common causes of a returned application. We check compliance before anything is submitted.

About this service
Expedify is a private application-assistance service, not a government agency. Passports are issued only by your national passport authority, and official processing times are set by that authority, not by us. Our agency fee covers preparation, review, and tracking of your application, and is separate from the government's own fee. The information on this page is general guidance, not legal advice. Always confirm current requirements and fees with your national passport authority.
